Is it safe to disassemble a DVD player?
Unplugged, of course. But, Im wondering if these things behave like TVs and retain power in things like capacitors or if the laser will blind me the minute I take the cover off.

If it has been off for a couple of days, you will be OK. I have disassembled my DVD player a couple of times to see whats wrong with it and I am still here.
